MSC Service Controllers
Inventum's MSC controllers are broadband traffic aggregation & session management routers. Using the MSC, operators can rapidly create exciting new Internet services that go beyond flat-rate access plans.
With subscriber identity context at their core, MSCs make the deployment of personalized Internet services extremely simple. The MSCs can isolate, authenticate, route, rate-limit, filter & meter each subscriber's traffic flows. The MSC interfaces with any standard AAA solution, enabling online charging of usage & flow linked services. The MSC is also a cost-effective alternative to expensive edge aggregation routers (B-RAS), particularly in low density or distributed network architectures.
Access Technology Agnostic
Access agnostic, MSCs are available in multiple models & throughput capacity to cater to a wide variety of networks. MSCs have been successfully deployed with DSL, WiFi, Cable, WiMAX, Satellite (VSAT) & several other last-mile technologies.
Sample Applications
- WLAN service management in hotspots & hotzones - Provides captive portal, authentication, VLAN traffic separation, policy routing for each SSID, per subscriber IP filtering, per session usage metering, volume quota enforcement, per session bandwidth management & other useful policy control features.
- PPPoE aggregation & session control on xDSL or Ethernet networks - Broadband RAS alternative. Ideal for small distributed, sub 5/10G aggregation locations.
- Mobile Data Offload traffic metering - Meter & enforce policy (PCEF) on offloaded traffic right at the edge without having to backhaul to GGSN.
