Inventum today announced that it has successfully commissioned secure WiFi access for officials, athletes and visitors at the XIX Common Wealth Games 2010 being held in New Delhi, India.
Inventum’s MSC Service Controllers and UNIFY SMP were chosen to secure public Internet access using the WPA2 wireless standard. The solution implements secure mandatory log-on for each network user and also implements lawful monitoring as mandated by the Indian government’s Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
“We are proud that every participant of the games will be able to securely enjoy the Internet from anywhere at the games village…” said Anil Walia, Head of India Sales for Inventum. “This development is another addition to the long list of service providers & enterprises implementing WiFi security compliance solutions from Inventum.” added Walia.
The project for public WiFi at the games village had been awarded & implemented by Radius Infratel Pvt. Ltd. Apart from ubiquitous WiFi coverage, Radius Infratel has also deployed FTTH to each apartment within the village.
